A BBA and an MBA from BITS, Pilani. He later attended the AMP at MIT, Sloan School of Management, Boston, USA and has been specially trained in Quality at Juse, Tokyo, Japan which included TQM, TPM and Kaizen.

He started his career with the Amalgamated Electricity Company, Mumbai as Export Manager in their export business. He later joined the Godrej Group of Companies and held various senior positions in the company such as Senior Vice President of Godrej Soaps Ltd., Managing Director of a joint venture Godrej-Photo Me and the head of the Medical Diagnostics Division. He was then appointed the Managing Director of Godrej Foods Ltd. and also was the head of the Godrej-Pillsbury joint venture. He then proceeded to set up a world-class management business school at Neral as the CEO of AICAR Business School.

After this assignment he was appointed Dean for India for the Bradford Business Management School, Bradford, UK.

He is currently Managing Director of IHA Consulting Services for India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. This consulting organization provides for quality in all spheres of manufacturing, sales and marketing in developing countries.

He was responsible for introducing the Quality Improvement Movement in the Godrej Group of Companies starting with Swadeshi Detergents Ltd (a Godrej Group of Companies) in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh along with Dr.B.K.Modi and Mr.Ganpati. This Quality Movement spread to all the Godrej Companies and he was responsible for initiating TQM, Kaizen, TPM and 6 Sigma in the Godrej Group of Companies. He was responsible for setting up a world class quality plant of Godrej Soaps Ltd. for soaps and chemicals at Malanpur, Madhya Pradesh. This plant was awarded the Pinnacle Award for Quality by Proctor Gamble, USA.

He has been on the national committee of CII for Quality and has been a regular speaker at the annual Quality Conferences of CII for five years.

He has served as the Vice President of the Sahibabad Industrial Association, the General Secretary of AIMO, Uttar Pradesh and also headed the quality control division of AIMO, Uttar Pradesh.

He has been awarded the prestigious Udyog Ratna Award, New Delhi for his contribution to Quality Movement in India.
